Regardless of whether you are wanting to take a trip with your spouse or with your whole family, one of the best things you can do during the summer is take a trip (or better yet – to take many trips!), but one of the reasons why people do not end up taking the trips they want to take is because they “don’t have time” with work. The great news, however, is that many people actually do have time and simply do not realize it; when you start taking overnight trips (two days and one night) on weekends, you will be able to make the most of your weekends, take a number of trips, and make memories that will last for a long time to come.

Visiting a bed & breakfast is a great idea for an overnight trip; while a bed & breakfast can certainly work on a trip with the whole family, this is an optimal escape for a couple, as it gives them a chance to hide away in a quiet, cozy place where they can simply enjoy one another!

One idea that works great for taking an overnight trip with your whole family - and that is even better when you go with another family you are friends with – is renting a sailboat or a house boat for a couple days; regardless of whether you live near the ocean or near lakes, you can have a great time staying the night on a boat with people you enjoy.

And camping can be a fun adventure for a couple or for a family; while a week-long camping trip might be too much for everyone to handle, an overnight trip usually gives that perfect balance of enjoyment and “just the right amount of time.”

Make sure you are not limiting the amount of fun you are able to have during the summer because of the fact that you have to work; realize that overnight trips can be just as fun as long-term trips, and they can provide you with memories that are just as lasting!
